Birthday: June 01, 1960
City: Selden State/Prov.: NY Occupation: Human Resources Representative Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 From Jacqueline: Hi everyone! I'm enjoying reading your profiles and I'm looking forward to seeing you at the reunion. Some of you have really suffered heartaches in your life. I'm so sorry for that, and hope that the good in your life carries you forward. It is so hard to believe that it has been 30 years since we've graduated. I guess we have some catching up to do. I still live on Long Island. I'm married and have two beautiful daughters (ages 16 and 19). I have been working for Northrop Grumman for 22 years. I think that I will be working forever, but long for the days when I might be able to afford to have some more time to myself and those things that I love. My daughter is over my shoulder poking fun at my message, so I will have to tell you the rest in person. See you on the 23rd. ~Jackie |

City: Hauppauge
State/Prov.: New York Occupation: Assistant Vice President/ Portfolio Manager Website: www.paulborowski.org Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 1 From Paul: Married to my wife, Kathy, since 1992. We lived in Boca Raton, FL from 1994-2001. We moved back to Hauppauge in 2001, after my mother passed away to be close to my Dad. We have a daughter, Amanda, who is 9 years old and attends a Hauppauge School District Elementary School. I have been very active in the Hauppauge Community, especially over the past few years. I have been in Banking for 26 years and work for Commerce Bank in the Melville Regional Corporate Office. I received my B.A. from SUNY Albany and M.B.A. in Finance from Pace University in Westchester. I look forward to seeing you next week at the reunion. 8/29/2008 I had a terrific and memorable Reunion weekend thanks to all of you. Personally, A Big Thanks to Debbie Kelly for her ideas and determination in making this Reunion event possible, starting more than a year ago. Personally, Much gratitude to Kathy Van Dyke (Dallow) for her computer expertise, alumni search ability and creativity. Debbie, Kathy & I worked very well as a team of friends wanting to create a special 30th reunion event, weekend and reconnecting with old friends and developing new ones. The Class of 1978 is remarkable. Much appreciation to Karen Dogonniuck for her planning and coordination of our Reunion Dinner and to Tom Farrell for his coordination with the Photographer and for his assistance showing the 10th Reunion DVD at the event. *Please buy a HHS Class of '78 30th Reunion group or candid photo-(about $15.00) See www.islandphoto.com; password: hauppauge before 9/11/08. *If you want to order the HHS Class of '78 10th Reunion DVD (7/30/88), please contact Mike at 631-489-7015 or www.digitalvideodreams.com Thank you Jerry Costanzo (and DJ Ray Costanzo) for donating and providing the music. Great! Much appreciation to our Alumni searchers and callers: Sharon Bellito (Altmann), Shelly Rossi (Samuels), Mike Eisele, Teresa Struhs (Mauceri), Nana Dowse (Fanelli), Karen Baerenklau (Scarlato), Pam Stark (Rodden), Joe Tursi, Harry Gotimer, Sharon Groth(Stein), Alan Kaufman. Thank you to Mr. & Mrs. Robert Kaye for their generous donation to the Hauppauge Educational Foundation, in memory of Arthur Kaye for the Arthur Kaye Memorial Journalism Award to be presented in June 2009. We will also remember our other classmates that are no longer with us: Mary Catalano, Bob Hersch, Ged Mitzman, Donna Mulhern, Steve Passante, Chris Saul, Glenn Scibilia, Gayle Scopin, Don Seufert and Jay Starr. Please send a donation payable to "Hauppauge Educational Foundation" to Paul Borowski, 70 Autumn Drive, Hauppauge, NY 11788. Thank you Kathy Van Dyke (Dallow) for your special idea to create this remembrance. The Reunion Committee and The Kaye Family felt that a Departmental Journalism Award to a graduating Hauppauge High School Senior who was Aquila Yearbook Editor as recipient was appropriate. Arthur Kaye was Aquila Yearbook Editor for the 1978 and 1977 school years. Thank you to the teachers that attended the event for your presence: Bill LuPone, Daria Williams (Zawyrucha), Jerry Ott (Class of 1978 Senior Advisor), Kathleen Burke, Lily Klima, Bob Druckenmiller, Celeste Sachs, Pam Carr, Carolyn Bogart, Stefan Krompier, Nancy Auth, Theresa DiClemente (Class of 1978 Freshman Advisor), Bill Nicklaus and Fred Pitrelli. Thank you to all our teachers, administration and Board of Education for your contribution to our lives. Many of our alumni said that 10 years between reunions is too long, so the plan is to have the next reunion in 5 years and have annual informal type reunion picnics in between at Hoyt Farm, Hidden Pond Park or elsewhere. So far, for next year, Annie Grumm, Jeff Parrett, Jackie Azadi (Banks) and Donna Wicks already offered to organize an informal picnic sometime next summer (probably early August). In addition, many alumni asked about creating a Class of 1978 alumni directory with contact information, including name, address, phone number, email address(es), etc. or whatever each alumni would like to release. This alumni directory would be with the understanding to be used for keeping in touch with alumni, potential networking and for future reunion events. (Being respectful not for chain letters, jokes, etc.) Please email your authorization to release information already gathered by the Reunion Committee as well as add further information (Part or all of the information provided can be listed "private" for the Reunion Committee only). Please email via this website to contact us or Paul Borowski at PEBOROWSKI@aol.com Please add 30th Reunion pictures and/or recent or 1978 photos to the Photo Album on this website for all to share. Please add your Alumni Profile. The hauppauge1978.myevent.com website will be available for another year and we are looking at keeping some type of Class of 1978 website thereafter. Lastly, some alumni have indicated that they no longer have a copy of their yearbook. I am in the process of trying to get a unsigned copy of one that the pages can be scanned. Based on the number of alumni requesting one, will determine the price. Please email me if you are interested in purchasing one if available. There will be another broadcast email to all soon, just wanted to share some information beforehand. Be in touch. Paul |

City: Rocky Point
State/Prov.: NY Occupation: Police Officer Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 From Philip: I never can seem to figure out where all this time has gone!!! 30 years and now we are the "old people". I've been married for 23 years to my sweetheart Veronica. I have a 15 year old daughter Danielle, and 11 year old son Philip. My oldest daughter, Jennifer would have been 18 years old but sadly for us she passed away at the age of 5, on 12/20/94 of a brain AVM. (It's similar to an aneurysm.) So nowadays I take nothing for granted and try to enjoy my life and my family as best we can, but it's a sadness we struggle with every day...OK..Enough of that..I've been with the Suffolk County Police Department now for 25 Years. I'm currently assigned to the Highway Patrol Bureau and work the 912 car on Sunrise Highway, Ive been there for 5 years now and it's probably the best job I've had in the Dept. I own a boat and a camper that we try to use as often as possible and I am an avid NASCAR fan and go to races all over east coast. #17 Matt Kenseth fan! Anyone but Tony Stewart!!! I'm really looking forward to the Reunion as I haven't been able to attend the first 2 but I'm not missing this one. Hope to see all of you soon. If you see me in the 912 car don't hesitate to pull me over and talk! I can use the change. |

City: Shirley
State/Prov.: NY Occupation: Engineer Marital Status: Single Again No. of Children: 1 From John: Well 30 years, huh? It's only a number and that's how I feel about our age. You're as old as you feel and I still feel 30. If I had it all to do over again, knowing what I know now, I would have done things much differently, although if it were at all possible I would keep my son. I love him more than anything. 19 now and a handful, but he's really a great kid. So, if I were to do it over, I would not be in the business I am now and I would have done what dad wanted and that was to finish college. I'm still going to school. Hummm lets see, I have been in school pretty much since I was 4. I'm currently working on a Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. I've been in the electronics industry since High School and have been an engineer of some type for over 20 years. I would have started my own business doing at least one of the things I really enjoy. I do electronic repair work on the side as well as construction, construction design and electrical work. I'm single once again and loving it although I have met someone that I think we both wish would have happened maybe 20 years ago. I love the beach, all kinds of music, traveling and cooking. See you at the reunion. |
